Welcome to my new home studio!

My interest in weaving was first ignited by a “Spinning, Weaving and Natural Dying” class in Surrey in the early 1970s. On a road trip across Canada in 1973, I came across a traditional spinning wheel in Quebec, and have packed it along with me ever since. Although it took nearly two decades and many life changes to finally get serious about spinning and weaving, they have been my main passion for the past 15 years.

I have taken a variety of workshops and am an avid ‘book learner’. I am most interested in experimenting with colour and texture, and occasionally try out more complex weave structures. My greatest pleasure comes from creating projects inspired by Nature. A series of “Sunny Day” wool blankets and the “Wild Rose” tea towels are my favourites to date.

Having recently moved from the South Cariboo, my home studio is presently located on Saturna Island, in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia. The abundance of flowers, birds and trees and the beautiful natural surroundings are a constant source of creative inspiration.

You are invited to view the following pages to see some examples of my work: scarves, shawls, rugs, towels and blankets. These items have been photographed in my garden and around the island so you can see why I chose to live in this beautiful and inspirational place. If you would like more information or detailed photos of any specific item, please contact me. As I live in my studio, I am usually available and always eager to share my craft with visitors. Please call, email or drop in. To find out more about Saturna Island and what it has to offer, be sure to check out the Saturna Island Tourism website
